Play order vs story order

Play BM1 first, then BM2. Chronologically BM2 is a prequel that explains how Harvey ended up in the first game's situation — but the reveal only lands if you have already done the clicking yourself.

BLOODMONEY! 1 — August 2025

You are in debt and desperate. Harvey, a former programmer and investment banker, offers you $25,000 to torture him for 30 days. Each click earns $1.

As you hurt him to earn the money, the moral weight of your actions grows heavier. Harvey's pleas get more desperate. Early on he encourages you. By the late game he is begging.

Themes: economic desperation, moral degradation, player complicity.

BLOODMONEY! 2 — September 2025

The truth arrives. Harvey's consciousness has been trapped in a simulation by his wife Eun-Mi. While Harvey believes he is living a normal life, every night she puts him to sleep, lets players torture him for money, then erases his memory.

He does not know he will never see his five-year-old son Toby again. Now you decide whether to tell him.

Themes: AI consciousness, family tragedy, truth versus mercy, digital imprisonment.

The connection

BM2 recontextualises everything from BM1. The torture you inflicted was not on a willing participant — it was on a trapped father who did not know his son was growing up without him.

The experiment tested Harvey. It also tested Eun-Mi. And it tested you, which you only find out afterwards.

"Eun-Mi stole everything from me: my son, my life, my happiness." — Harvey, hidden audio log

The endings do not carry over

The games connect through story only. There are no save imports and no choice transfers — BM2 explains Harvey's backstory rather than continuing your specific BM1 playthrough.
